The photographer who travels to the other extreme of the world and to one of the countries with the most overwhelming landscape known, has little choice other than shooting that same landscape.
There´s inverted and transparent mountains and lakes that fill the eyeball with locations just seen before in mythical movies and tropical shampoo advertising. I found myself trapped in that immense blind alley surrounded by green and vertigo.
I´ve always thought Landscape photography was doing a poor favor to the landscape itself, flattening it and removing most of the sensations that the real experience conveys. Regardless of the poetic and aesthetic value of the image it would remain a weak representation.
I tried to return some dimensions to that representation by adding a mirror to the capture and by evidencing the obvious fact that in the antipodes of where you come from, the world is upside down.
